Maker Space at Wilton Public Library
A Maker/Space is a place designed for “hands on learning” with all the tools/equipment/technology needed for junior and senior high school students, as well as folks in the community that would like to learn new and/or different job skills. WDC in partnership with Wilton Public Library, the Wilton, Durant and West Liberty junior and senior high schools, as well as Muscatine Community College (MCC) and Eastern Iowa Community College have come together to create this much needed environment.
The Wilton Maker Space will open Fall of 2022! You can expect to find amazing technology, a 3D printer, is already here and we will keep getting more.
Pictured in Library Newsletter on the next page are Ozobots and a Glowforge Laser Cutter. Ozobots are small robots that are programmed to read colors. It’s the perfect introduction to coding for our young patrons and fun for everyone. The Glowforge is also fun, but has many more practical uses, especially for local businesses. The Glowforge can cut into most materials to produce high quality engraving in minutes. We will be keeping you updated with more Maker Space News as we move forward!
